The Challenge

Produce training materials for volunteers worldwide

The Peace Corps has sent more than 200,000 volunteers to more than 100 countries since its founding in 1961. In any given year more than 5,000 volunteers serve in distant, remote, or frontier settings. The Peace Corps Office of Overseas Programming and Training Support (OPATS) develops and disseminates multiple materials throughout the service countries for staff training and development. OPATS hired Isom Global Strategies (IGS) for the design and production of print and multimedia materials for worldwide distribution.

The Solution

Clarity, Accuracy, and Quality

IGS worked with Peace Corps staff, and independently, to improve the Corps’ print and digital technical, instructional, and evaluation material. IGS researched and wrote about specific topics, used the Adobe Creative Suite for layout and print-ready materials, created single image and collage visual elements with computer graphics and photos, and used the Corps’ web-based authoring system to convert content into images and audio files for internet optimization. IGS also proofed and edited all materials for clarity, accuracy, and quality.

We expanded OPATS’ capacity to identify, develop, and disseminate multiple types of materials for worldwide staff training and development.

The Results

IGS expanded OPATS’ capacity to identify, develop, and disseminate multiple types of materials for worldwide staff training and development. We researched and wrote 18 documents, led creation and layout for 37 print-ready materials, created and procured 123 illustrative graphic and photo images, and ensured all products were of the highest quality and digitally optimized.
